How to earn from spare luggage space

It often happens before a flight: the ticket is bought, the suitcase is packed, and part of the allowed luggage weight is unused. If you are willing to take a small permitted item with you, JetJoin helps you find people who need to send things along your route.

    How it works

    1. 1

      Publish your flight

Route, date and free luggage weight

    2. 2

      Receive requests

Senders offer a parcel and a price

    3. 3

      Accept the parcel

Check the contents and take a photo on acceptance

    4. 4

      Get paid

After delivery is confirmed with a code

The traveler publishes the flight, states the available weight and receives offers from senders. You decide which requests to consider, how many parcels you are willing to take and whether the offered reward suits you. Extra income is possible but not guaranteed: it all depends on demand, the route and the agreements.

How earning from luggage works on JetJoin

The service is built around the traveler. Instead of looking for random orders in chats, you post information about your trip and wait for offers from senders whose needs match your flight.

    Publish your upcoming flight

Enter the departure and arrival cities, date and time, flight number and available weight. Separately note where you have free space — in checked baggage or hand luggage. State only the weight you can actually use within the airline’s rules.

    Receive requests from senders

The sender says what they want to send, how much the parcel weighs and what reward they offer. You see offers for your route and can discuss the terms before deciding.

    Choose offers yourself

JetJoin doesn’t assign parcels automatically. The traveler chooses suitable requests and can stop accepting them when they no longer want more items.

How much can you earn from spare luggage

There is no single rate. The reward depends on the route, date, available weight, the item and how willing the parties are to agree. Calculate the amount for each request separately, not from a desired price for all your luggage.

Example: a sender offers 30,000 ₸ to deliver a permitted 2 kg parcel. JetJoin’s traveler fee is 10% of the agreed amount — 3,000 ₸. After the fee, the traveler keeps 27,000 ₸ before any personal costs and taxes. This is an example calculation, not a promise of income.

If several requests come in for one flight, the reward and fee are calculated separately for each confirmed delivery.

Why free weight doesn’t mean you can carry any parcel

Airlines have restrictions on the weight, size and contents of luggage. For international trips, the customs rules of the departure, transit and arrival countries also matter. Free kilograms on a ticket don’t, by themselves, allow you to carry other people’s goods.

Don’t accept sealed items with unknown contents. Ask about the purpose, value and composition of the items, check whether carriage is allowed and whether a declaration or fees are required. If in doubt, decline the request.

How to choose a suitable request

Consider not only the amount offered but also how convenient the meeting is, the size of the parcel, where it will be collected, possible delays and your responsibility to the carrier. Several small items aren’t always more convenient than one: each handover takes time and coordination.

Don’t promise delivery by an exact hour if it depends on flight delays, border control or other circumstances. It is best to agree on all essential terms in the chat before confirming.

How to arrange handover and pickup

Before departure, agree with the sender on the meeting place and handover time. Check the contents and condition of the item and the recipient’s details. After arrival, hand over the parcel at the agreed place. Don’t go beyond the permitted route and the terms you accepted.

    Payment and deal security

JetJoin handles agreements through the platform: the sender’s card is charged after you enter the delivery confirmation code, and your reward is paid out to you automatically. Identity verification, messaging and the payment mechanism help structure the deal, but they don’t remove risks, air travel rules or personal responsibility for your luggage.

Payment protection for the service is not the same as automatic insurance of the contents.

Start with a flight you’ve already planned

You don’t need to buy a separate ticket for a delivery. If you are already flying and have free permitted weight, publish your flight on JetJoin. Senders will be able to offer their requests, and the decision will stay with you.
