JetJoin helps you find a traveler who is already planning a flight on the route you need. The passenger publishes the flight and available luggage weight, and the sender offers a specific parcel and a reward. The traveler decides whether to accept the request.
Where to start when sending a parcel to another country
Preparation starts not with finding a ticket but with checking the item itself. Note its name, quantity, weight, approximate value and purpose. For an international handover, both the traveler and customs may need this information.
Check that the item may be carried
Airline rules differ for hand luggage and checked baggage. Special restrictions may apply to lithium batteries, liquids, medicines, food and other categories. The destination country may also ban the import of an item or require a permit or declaration.
Prepare the recipient’s details
Agree in advance on the recipient’s name and contacts, the arrival city, the expected date and a convenient way to hand over the parcel. Don’t assume any flight means door-to-door delivery: the parties choose the meeting place themselves.
How to find a traveler with a suitable flight
On JetJoin the sender enters the route and browses trips already posted by travelers. On a flight card you can check the date, departure and arrival points, available weight and passenger details.
If there is no suitable flight, you can use “Notify me about a new flight” so you don’t have to keep checking the route manually.
How to agree on an international handover on JetJoin
Send the traveler an offer
State what is in the parcel, its size, weight and the reward you offer. The more precise the description, the easier it is for the traveler to evaluate the request and check restrictions.
Discuss the price and meeting terms
On JetJoin the traveler chooses requests. They can accept the offered amount, negotiate or decline. The cost of each delivery is the agreed price of that request, not the total desired price of the free luggage.
Record the agreement
Before the handover, agree on the date, meeting place, pickup procedure and what to do if the flight is delayed. Keep in mind that cancelling an accepted request less than 6 hours before departure means paying compensation to the other party — the app shows the amount before you send the request.
Documents and customs requirements to consider
Carrying an item in a passenger’s luggage does not exempt it from customs rules. Value, quantity, the nature of the goods, the purpose of import and the passenger’s status may all matter. Goods carried on behalf of another person may be subject to different rules than the traveler’s own belongings.
Before sending, check the official rules of the customs authorities in the departure and destination countries. If needed, prepare a receipt, a description of the item, permits or a declaration. Don’t ask the traveler to hide the contents or declare commercial goods as their own personal items.
How much does it cost to send a parcel abroad
The price depends on the route, weight, volume, travel date and handover terms. For example, if a traveler is flying from Almaty to Istanbul and has free space, the sender can offer to have a small permitted parcel carried for an agreed reward. The total amount and applicable fees are shown before the deal is confirmed.
Separately, consider possible customs charges, which should not be confused with the traveler’s reward or the platform fee.
How to hand over the parcel and arrange pickup
Before meeting, check the packaging and that the contents match the description. The traveler must be able to see what they are accepting. The parties decide in advance who collects the parcel after arrival, where, and how the handover is confirmed.
If the flight is rescheduled, questions arise at customs or the recipient can’t be reached, act according to the agreed terms and the platform rules. The plane landing is not, by itself, confirmation that the parcel was delivered.
When delivery with a traveler is convenient
This format suits small permitted items when the sender is ready to agree on terms with a specific passenger. It does not replace professional logistics for any cargo and does not guarantee a flight on your chosen date.
JetJoin combines finding a traveler, discussing the request and confirming the agreement in one service. Start by choosing a route and checking available flights.

Frequently asked questions
Can I send a parcel abroad with an air passenger?
In some cases, yes — if the item may be carried and imported, the traveler agrees and the applicable customs requirements are met.
Do I need to declare the item?
It depends on the country, value, quantity and purpose of the items. Check the requirements of the official customs authorities before the handover.
Who sets the delivery price?
The sender proposes an amount, and the traveler accepts it or discusses other terms. Each request is agreed separately.
What if there is no flight to the country I need?
You can turn on notifications about new flights on your route.
Can I send medicines or electronics?
Not always. Some medicines, devices and batteries are subject to special restrictions and requirements for documents or the way they are carried.
Who is responsible for the contents of the parcel?
The sender must describe the contents truthfully, and the traveler must follow the carrier’s rules and applicable law. The parties’ responsibilities should be defined before the deal.
