Find a traveler to carry your parcel

When you need to send documents, a gift or a personal item to another city, a practical question comes up: where do you find someone already flying that route? Asking friends isn’t always convenient, and posts in random chats don’t give you a clear way to compare trips and agree on terms.

At the agreed place and time

JetJoin helps senders find travelers by route and flight date. Passengers publish their flights themselves, state the space available in their luggage and consider offers to carry permitted items. The sender chooses a suitable trip and proposes their own delivery price.

Where to find a traveler with a suitable flight

Start with the departure and destination cities. In the list of trips, look not only at the route but also at the departure date, arrival time, available weight and luggage type. A matching route doesn’t mean the traveler can take your particular parcel: the final decision depends on its size, contents and carriage rules.

On JetJoin it is the traveler who publishes the trip. The sender doesn’t need to post a flight: it is enough to review existing offers and send a request to the chosen passenger.

How to offer a traveler to deliver your parcel

Step 1. Enter the route and date

Choose the departure city, destination and convenient dates. If your timing is flexible, consider several upcoming flights.

Step 2. Review the trip card

Check the flight details, available weight and information about the traveler. If flight confirmation is available on the platform, take its status into account.

    Step 3. Describe the item

State the actual weight, dimensions, contents and packaging details. Don’t hand over unknown or hidden items: the traveler must understand what they are accepting.

    Step 4. Offer a reward

The sender states an amount for the specific parcel. The traveler may agree, suggest other terms or decline the request. The price is calculated for each agreed delivery separately, not from the desired total for all the free luggage.

Step 5. Arrange handover and pickup

Discuss the meeting place and time before departure, the recipient’s contact, how the parcel will be handed over after arrival and the payment terms. Make sure both sides understand the agreement the same way.

Why the decision stays with the traveler

One passenger may receive several requests for one flight. For example, they have 8 kg of free luggage, and senders offer items weighing 1, 2 and 4 kg. They choose the suitable offers based on weight, contents and convenience of the handover. Parcels are never assigned to a traveler automatically.

This way the trip isn’t overloaded with obligations, and each delivery is agreed in advance.

If there is no traveler on the route yet

A suitable flight may appear later. Instead of searching again and again, you can use “Notify me about a new flight” for the chosen route. When a suitable offer appears, the sender can review the terms and decide whether to send a request.

A notification does not guarantee that a traveler will accept the parcel or that a flight will appear by a certain date.

How to choose a reliable handover option

Check the trip details, discuss the contents of the parcel in the chat and record the essential terms before the handover. For international flights, check the airline’s rules, customs restrictions, declaration requirements and the rules of the destination country in advance.

Identity verification and payment protection reduce some risks, but they don’t replace checking the contents and don’t mean the value of the item is automatically insured. The traveler may refuse to carry an item if it raises doubts.

How much does it cost to send a parcel with a traveler

There is no universal price for all routes. The sender offers a reward based on weight, date and route, and the traveler considers it individually. Before confirming the deal, it is important to see the full total including platform fees.

For example, if a traveler has published an Almaty — Paris flight with 10 kg of luggage available, the sender can offer to have a 2 kg parcel carried for a separately agreed amount. The price of the remaining 8 kg does not automatically set the price of this request.
