How to send a parcel from Almaty to Athens via a traveler
Sometimes you need to get documents, a gift or a personal item to someone in Athens who is studying, working or on holiday in Greece. JetJoin helps find a traveler who is planning a trip from Almaty to Athens and is willing to consider a request. The service helps the parties come to an agreement but does not carry parcels itself.
The traveler publishes the route, date and free baggage weight, and the sender chooses a suitable trip and proposes a reward. The traveler decides whether to take a particular item.
What to consider when sending items from Kazakhstan to Greece
Greece is part of the European Union, so EU customs rules apply on entry. Restrictions cover animal products, plants, medicines, alcohol and tobacco; gifts and purchases may be subject to value limits.
If the flight includes a transfer, baggage rules may differ between airlines. Check the requirements for lithium batteries, liquids and aerosols separately.
Photos, packaging and describing the contents
Prepare photos and videos of the contents and packaging — the sender uploads them to JetJoin. Describe each item, its value, weight and dimensions.
The packaging should protect the item while remaining accessible for inspection. Do not hand over sealed boxes or items whose origin and contents the traveler doesn’t know.
How to agree on the meeting and the reward
In Almaty, meet in advance, with time to spare before leaving for the airport. In Athens, decide on the recipient, the meeting place and how to get in touch if the flight is delayed. Keep the time difference between the cities in mind.
There is no single rate: the sender proposes an amount, and the traveler decides whether it suits them. All JetJoin users go through an identity check, and the payment is charged only after delivery is confirmed with a code.
If there is no suitable trip yet
Trips to Athens are published more often in the tourist season, and there may be fewer at other times. If there is no suitable one, turn on “Notify me about a new flight”.
Compare offers by date, free weight and how convenient the meeting is in both cities. A published trip does not mean your request will be accepted.
