Parcels for family and students in Russia
Many Kazakhs study and work in Russian cities, and many families have relatives on both sides of the border. From home people send documents, gifts, factory-packed food, Kazakh sweets and tea, and children’s clothes. There are many flights between the countries, so finding a traveler is usually easy.
With JetJoin you choose a traveler flying from Almaty, Astana or Shymkent to the Russian city you need and agree with them directly. The platform does not take parcels into a warehouse and is not a cargo service.
Carriage rules within the EAEU
There is no customs control in the usual sense between Kazakhstan and Russia, but aviation rules and EAEU personal-use allowances apply. Liquids in cabin baggage are limited in volume, power banks go only in cabin baggage, and several identical new items may be treated as goods.
Meat delicacies such as kazy can be carried within the EAEU if they are factory-made and packaged; homemade food is at your own risk. Always tell the traveler the parcel contains food.
Cities and the meeting
Travelers most often fly to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, but there are also flights to Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and other cities. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city: the traveler is not obliged to carry the parcel further.
In Kazakhstan, arrange the meeting with time to spare before departure. In Russia, the recipient meets the traveler at the airport or an agreed place; note that in Moscow time the flight lands two hours “earlier” than in Almaty time.
How to prepare the parcel
Describe the contents specifically and upload photos and videos to JetJoin. Pack food tightly and put documents in a folder.
Don’t hand over closed boxes whose contents the traveler doesn’t know, and don’t include cash — arrange a transfer another way.
How much it costs and how to pay
You propose the reward, and the traveler agrees or discusses another amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%, and the total is shown in the app before you confirm.
The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in Russia — only then is the payment charged. All users go through an identity check.
