Who receives parcels in China
There are more and more Russians in China: students in Beijing and Shanghai, entrepreneurs visiting trade fairs in Guangzhou, specialists on contracts. They receive documents, medicines for personal use, gifts, Russian books and food that Chinese shops don’t sell.
JetJoin helps you find someone already flying from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan or Yekaterinburg to China who is willing to take a small parcel. The platform does not accept cargo and is not a cargo service — the participants make the arrangement themselves.
Flights and meeting in China
There are direct flights from Moscow to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities; from the regions travelers often fly with a transfer. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city: the traveler won’t take domestic flights within China for a parcel.
Exchange contacts in advance in an app that works in China, and agree on a meeting place near the airport or the traveler’s hotel.
What may be brought into China
China strictly restricts animal products, fresh fruit, plants and seeds — don’t send sausage, cheese or cottage cheese. Separate requirements apply to medicines: personal quantities only, factory packaging and a prescription if needed.
Exports from Russia are subject to cash limits and restrictions on cultural property. Documents, clothes, books and gifts usually raise no questions.
How to prepare the parcel
List the contents and upload photos and videos of the items and packaging to JetJoin. Don’t hand over closed boxes or ask the traveler to hide items from inspection.
Power banks and spare batteries are checked very carefully in China: the casing must have a readable capacity label, and they may only travel in cabin baggage.
Price and payment
You offer a reward, and the traveler agrees or discusses another amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.
The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in China. Only then is your card charged; all users go through an identity check.
