Who receives parcels in France
Many Russians live and study in France: students in Paris and Lyon, families on the Côte d’Azur, specialists at international companies. From home they receive documents, certificates for studies and visas, Russian books, children’s things and gifts. Mail is slow, and a courier for one folder of documents is expensive.
JetJoin helps you find someone travelling from Russia to France who is willing to take a small permitted item. It is not a courier service: you agree with the traveler directly.
A route with a transfer, and the meeting
There are currently no direct flights between Russia and France, so travelers fly via Istanbul, Dubai, Belgrade or other hubs. Your parcel will go through several security checks — keep that in mind when packing.
Paris has two major airports, and the recipient may live in Nice or Marseille. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city and agree on a meeting place in advance.
What French customs will let through
France applies EU rules: meat and dairy products from non-EU countries may not be brought in, plants need documents, and alcohol and tobacco have limits. Medicines are allowed only in personal quantities, in packaging and with a prescription.
In addition, EU sanctions rules restrict the import of certain goods of Russian origin. The safest things to send are documents, books, clothes and inexpensive gifts.
How to prepare the parcel
List the contents and upload photos and videos of the items and packaging to JetJoin. Put documents for French universities and prefectures in a rigid folder and make scans.
Don’t hand over closed boxes, cash or items whose composition the traveler doesn’t know.
Price and payment
You offer a reward, and the traveler agrees or names their own amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.
The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in France. Only then is your card charged; all users go through an identity check.
