    Europe’s largest Russian-speaking community

Millions of Russian speakers live in Germany — from Berlin and Hamburg to Munich and small towns in North Rhine-Westphalia. Many families are split by the border: parents in Russia, children and grandchildren in Germany. Parcels between them include documents for the immigration office and pension funds, certificates, medicines, children’s things, books and holiday gifts.

Since direct flights to the EU stopped, postal and courier shipments have become slower and more complicated. JetJoin helps you find someone travelling from Russia to Germany who is willing to take a small permitted item — no warehouse and no rate, just a direct agreement.

    How travelers get there now

Trips from Russia to Germany usually involve a transfer — via Istanbul, Belgrade, Yerevan or other cities, sometimes with an overland leg. The parcel goes through several security checks, so everything inside must be allowed at every stage.

Ask the traveler where their journey ends: Berlin, Frankfurt or Munich. Germany is big, and if the recipient lives in another city, it is easier to meet at the arrival station or airport.

    EU customs and German rules

Germany is in the European Union: meat and dairy products from non-EU countries may not be brought in — don’t put sausage, salo, cottage cheese or cheese in the parcel. Plants need phytosanitary documents, and gifts and tobacco have limits. Medicines are for personal use only, in packaging and with a prescription, ideally translated.

Documents, books, clothes, souvenirs and gifts usually pass without problems. EU sanctions rules restrict the import of certain goods of Russian origin, so expensive items and anything that looks like goods are best not sent via a traveler.

    How to prepare the parcel

Describe the contents specifically and upload photos and videos of the items and packaging to JetJoin. For documents needed by German authorities, make scans and keep the originals in a rigid folder.

Don’t include cash or Russian bank cards for use in Germany: besides currency export limits, they raise extra questions at the EU border.

    Price and payment

You offer a reward, and the traveler agrees or names their own amount. A route with transfers is long, so offer more for a bulky parcel. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.

All users go through an identity check. The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in Germany — only then is the payment charged.
