Parcel delivery from Germany to Russia

From Germany, people send relatives in Russia medicines and vitamins for personal use, gifts, children’s things and documents — for example German certificates and translated, certified papers. Many Russian speakers in Germany travel to Russia regularly and can take a small parcel.

This is the key question on this route. The EU bans the export to Russia of many categories of goods — some electronics, equipment and machinery, as well as luxury goods above a set value threshold. The restrictions also cover items in baggage, and they are checked when leaving the EU.

It makes sense to send personal items, clothes, documents, books and inexpensive gifts via a traveler. New electronics, expensive watches, jewellery and designer bags are best not sent: the traveler risks having them held at the EU border.

Travelers go from Germany to Russia with transfers — via Istanbul, Belgrade, Yerevan or other cities. Check the full route and whether the traveler can take the item in cabin baggage.

In Germany, arrange the meeting before departure — at a station or on the way to the airport. In Russia, the recipient meets the traveler in Moscow, Saint Petersburg or another arrival city.
