Who receives parcels in Italy
Russian-speaking families, students at universities in Milan, Rome and Bologna, and fashion and design professionals live in Italy. From Russia they receive documents for studies and residence permits, certificates, gifts, children’s things and Russian books. Mail takes weeks, and a courier for one folder of documents is disproportionately expensive.
JetJoin helps you find someone travelling from Russia to Italy who is willing to take a small parcel. It is not cargo: you agree with the traveler directly, and the platform protects the payment.
Route and meeting
There are currently no direct flights between Russia and Italy, so travelers fly via Istanbul, Belgrade, Dubai or other hubs. Check the route: the transfers determine how many security checks the parcel goes through.
Italy stretches over a thousand kilometres, and Milan is far from Naples. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city and arrange a meeting near the arrival airport or station.
What Italian customs will let through
Italy applies EU rules: meat and dairy products from non-EU countries may not be brought in, plants need documents, and alcohol and tobacco have limits. Medicines are allowed in personal quantities, in packaging and with a prescription.
EU sanctions rules restrict the import of certain goods of Russian origin. The safest things to send are documents, books, clothes and inexpensive gifts.
How to prepare the parcel
Describe the contents and upload photos and videos of the items and packaging to JetJoin. Documents for the questura and universities go in a rigid folder, with scans.
Don’t hand over closed boxes or cash. The traveler must understand what they are carrying.
Price and payment
You offer a reward, and the traveler agrees or names their own amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.
All users go through an identity check. The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in Italy — only then is the payment charged.
