What people send from Italy
From Italy to Russia people send gifts for family, documents, books, children’s clothes, coffee and sweets, and medicines for personal use. Russians living in Italy and tourists regularly travel home — JetJoin helps you find someone travelling on the dates you need.
The platform does not accept or carry parcels itself: it is an agreement between two people with a protected payment.
EU sanctions: fashion and luxury
Italy is the home of fashion brands, and this is exactly where the EU ban on exporting luxury goods above a set value threshold to Russia matters. Designer bags, shoes, clothes, watches and jewellery, as well as premium wine, may be held when leaving the EU.
Send personal items, documents and inexpensive gifts via a traveler. New electronics are also restricted.
Route and meeting
Travelers go from Italy to Russia with transfers. Arrange the meeting in Rome, Milan or Venice in advance — Milan and Rome each have two or three airports, so check which one the traveler departs from.
In Russia, the recipient meets the traveler in the arrival city — most often Moscow or Saint Petersburg.
Preparing the parcel
Upload photos and videos of the contents and packaging to JetJoin and list the items with their approximate value. Coffee and sweets in factory packaging; olive oil and wine only in checked baggage.
Don’t hand over items the traveler doesn’t know about, and don’t ask them to understate the value.
Price and payment
You propose the reward, and the traveler agrees or discusses another amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.
The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in Russia — only then is the payment charged.
