What people bring from Turkey
From Turkey to Russia people send gifts for family, clothes and textiles for themselves, Turkish tea and coffee, sweets, documents and things that didn’t fit in their own suitcase after a move. Tourists and Russians living in Turkey fly home all the time — JetJoin helps you find someone flying on the right day.
Travelers carry personal items. If it is a purchase for a shop — say, dozens of identical towels or clothes in one size — that is goods, and it is sent through a carrier with customs clearance.
Flights and meeting
There are direct flights from Istanbul and Antalya to Moscow, Saint Petersburg and many regional Russian cities. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city and check which airport the traveler departs from: Istanbul has two.
In Turkey, arrange the handover with time to spare before departure — for example at the hotel or on the way to the airport. In Russia, the recipient meets the traveler on arrival day at an agreed place.
Import into Russia: personal-use allowances
Russia applies EAEU duty-free allowances for personal-use goods. Gifts and things for yourself in reasonable quantities usually pass without questions; several identical new items look like goods.
Factory-packed sweets and tea can be sent. Olive oil and other liquids travel only in checked baggage in sealed packaging; tell the traveler in advance.
How to prepare the parcel
Describe the items and upload photos and videos of the contents and packaging to JetJoin. Keep receipts for new items.
Don’t include cash or things you can’t explain. The traveler must know what they are carrying.
How much it costs and how to pay
You propose the reward, and the traveler agrees or names another amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.
The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in Russia. The payment is charged only then; all users go through an identity check.
