What people send from the Emirates

From Dubai to Russia people send gifts for family, perfume, sweets and dates, clothes, personal purchases, documents and belongings after a move. Russians living in the UAE and tourists fly home all the time — JetJoin helps you find someone flying to the right city on the right day.

Travelers carry things for you and your family. Electronics and perfume in “for resale” quantities are goods and are sent through a carrier with customs clearance.

    Flights and meeting

There are direct flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and other cities. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city and arrange a meeting on arrival day.

In the Emirates, it is easiest to hand over in a mall or hotel lobby on the way to the airport — especially in summer, when it is too hot outside.

Import into Russia: what to consider

Russia applies EAEU duty-free allowances for personal items. One phone or laptop for yourself is fine; several identical new devices look like goods.

Perfume is a liquid: bottles over 100 ml travel only in checked baggage. Keep receipts for expensive purchases so the traveler can confirm their value.

    How to prepare the parcel

Take purchases out of large boxes, list the contents and upload photos and videos to JetJoin. Dates and sweets should be in factory packaging.

Don’t include cash or jewellery whose value and origin you can’t confirm. The traveler must know what they are carrying.

How much it costs and how to pay

You propose the reward, and the traveler accepts it or discusses another amount. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.

The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in Russia — only then is the payment charged. All users go through an identity check.
