Kazakhs live, study and work all over the USA — from New York and Chicago to California and Florida. They receive documents and certificates, children’s clothes, gifts, photos and books. International courier delivery of a small parcel halfway around the world is expensive, and delivery times are not always predictable.

A flight with a transfer and the time difference
Travelers from Kazakhstan to the USA fly with a transfer — for example via Istanbul, Frankfurt or another hub. Keep in mind that on arrival in the US, passengers go through passport and customs control, and items may be checked at random.
The time difference with New York is about ten hours, more with Los Angeles. Arrange the meeting in the US with time to spare, bearing in mind that the traveler may continue across the country after landing.
What US customs will let through
US customs is one of the strictest about food: meat, sausages, dairy, fruit, seeds and plants may not be brought in or must be declared. Don’t send kazy, kurt or homemade preserves. Medicines are allowed for personal use, in original packaging and ideally with a prescription.
Documents, clothes, books, souvenirs and gifts usually pass without problems. If an item is new and expensive, include the receipt.
How to prepare the parcel
List the contents and upload photos and videos of the items and packaging to JetJoin. Pack the parcel so it is easy to open at inspection: in the US, checked baggage may be opened without the passenger, so locks and heavy sealing only get in the way.
Put documents in a folder and make scans. Discuss electronics and power banks in advance — they will travel in cabin baggage.
Price and safety
You offer a reward, and the traveler agrees or discusses another amount. For a long-haul flight with a transfer, it is worth offering more than for a short flight. JetJoin’s sender fee is 15%.
All users go through an identity check. The traveler photographs the parcel when taking it and enters the confirmation code when handing it to the recipient in the US — only then is the payment charged.

Meat, dairy and homemade food — no. Factory-packed sweets and tea are usually fine but must be declared.

As long as the traveler’s journey: usually about a day including the transfer.
Can the parcel be received in another state?
Only if the traveler is going there. Search for a trip to the recipient’s city or arrange a meeting at the arrival airport.
What if nobody is flying to the US?
